  • Pacific International Hotel Management School (PIHMS) is one of the top business schools in New Plymouth, New Zealand. It offers students a career in tourism and hospitality. It is a world-class student campus with a hotel facility. Students can learn everything about food and beverage, front office, management, and housekeeping along with the regular study course.

    The best part about PIHMS is that during the study, students can earn through the placements from PIHMS. A number of educational facilities like meeting rooms, library, reception center, housekeeping office, laundry, bars, fine dining and bistro restaurants, lecture rooms, commercial learning kitchen, placement center, and others are available on the campus.

    The school offers hotel-like accommodation with well-equipped rooms, Wi-Fi access, meals served at PIHMS restaurant. A single room is available at an additional cost. PIHMS has a full-time Student Support Coordinator, on-campus, and available to students when required. Support services include counseling, career development program, job placement, learning, and language support. There are endless indoor and outdoor leisure activities on the campus. There are various courses available at PIHMS. There is a certificate course in the English language for people who want to learn English as an additional language. This course focuses on reading, writing, and speaking skills. There are diploma and degree course level 5, 6, 7. This includes a paid internship during the study and placement.

    The graduate diploma in hospitality and tourism management is for 1 year. Postgraduate diploma in hotel management level 8 provides students with advanced knowledge and skills in business planning, management, and finances. Finally, Masters of Hotel Management aims to offer students with an overall knowledge in hotel operational activities

    The accommodation price includes all meals seven days a week, bedding / towels and free Wi-Fi. Learn more about PIHMS accommodation here.
    For the first two years of the degree program its compulsory to live on site in the PIHMS accommodation.
    *Single rooms are subject to availability.
    **This rate is based on a 40 weeks stay. The rate for students who stay less than 40 weeks is $310 twin share, $410 single room per week.

    All rooms come equipped with the following amenities:

    Beds, bedding and towels
    Your bed, pillow, sheets, duvets, towels and facecloths are provided by PIHMS.

    If you wish to bring your own pillow or favourite Harry Potter duvet, you absolutely can!

    Room service
    Your room will be kept spick and span, serviced twice a week by the housekeeping team –cleaned, dusted, vacuumed and bed made.

    During this service your bedding and towels will also be replaced with a clean set. If you require a fresh towel sooner, this is available on request from the housekeeping department.

    Free Wi-Fi
    Wifi is free and available in each room and throughout the campus.

    Shared facilities
    Students will have access to coin operated laundry facilities on each hotel floor, $2 per load. 100% of this revenue goes to the PIHMS Student Association. Irons and ironing boards are also provided free of charge.

    Dining
    Breakfast, lunch and dinner are provided week days, with brunch and dinner provided during weekends; these meals are included in the accommodation fees.
