NSTS English Language Institute - Malta About the

  • English Language Institute was founded in 1963 and was the first English Language school to operate in Malta. The school adopted a policy of quality that reverberated internationally and fostered a steady increase in demand. 20 years or so later NSTS Malta expanded into providing tuition all year round while others started to open summer schools and replicate programmes. The NSTS English Language Institute Malta provides a complete range of language courses to meet various needs and ensures that students will find the one that will meet their requirements. The courses are largely inspired by a communicative language teaching methodology and the teachers opt for an eclectic approach which focuses on the development of students' language skills. Students will readily participate in dynamic teaching activities that are further enhanced by the international composition of class group. Furthermore the school confirms that a minimum of one group leader accompanies every coach load of junior students during each activity and excursion.

    This course is for students of all levels who are willing to improve their English skills.

    Benefit, goal of this course:
    Classes are in small groups with an average class size of six learners and a maximum of eight, to make the most of teacher-student interaction and the opportunity to practise speaking. NSTS seeks to give students the best learning opportunity by having small group sessions and providing academic advisor system. Students will have 4 language skills (Reading, Writing,Speaking, Listening) through rigorous schedules, but they will also be motivated by having a variety of extracurricular activities and sports opportunities.

    Curriculum:
    The lessons focus on the 4 language skills, as well as grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation and equip students with the best results that improve their fluency and confidence while speaking about every day topics.

    Class hours:
    There are 30 lessons per week of 45-minutes duration.

Course information

  • Focus of Study :
    This particular program will provide the students to have most up-to-date language skills in their daily professional life and career to make them more confident. There will be multiple social encounter practices to enable students to fluently speak English in professional settings. 

    Benefit, Goal of this course :
    Courses are designed for both young and experienced business executives who are exposed to international commercial relations and require confidence on their language abilities. NSTS helps students in two formats to help executives: a pure 100% Business language course,and Intensive General English.

    Curriculum :
    There are three major pathways that students can follow to master English. General English Speaking Practice, which includes 20 lessons of English conversation practice and optional activities,will help students’ speaking abilities. Also, Cultural Immersion into English enables students to experience unique Maltese culture and let students visit monuments that were built 7,000 years ago. For English for my first job&work training, students can prepare for vocational colleges and practice writing cover letters and resumes in English. Instructors will also help students to find the right vocational path.

    Class hours:
    There are 30 lessons per week of 45-minutes duration (20 General English classes and 10 Business English classes).

    This unique accommodation option highlights the spirit of hospitality which characterises the Maltese people. NSTS officials personally visit and interview each host family before approval and keep regular contact to ensure you have the best possible stay. Guests are hosted on half-board – meaning breakfast and dinner are provided – with the latter most likely to be a typical Mediterranean-style meal with Italian influence. Families regularly host up to four English learners during peak times and provide shared facilities. Laundry facilities are available upon request.

    NSTS CAMPUS RESIDENCE
    NSTS Campus Residence, the newest addition to NSTS properties, is located on University Street, Msida, opposite the University of Malta sports grounds and the national swimming pool. Malta’s cosmopolitan Sliema seafront is just 800 metres away, and the NSTS-English Language Institute is a 15 minute walk. The Residence caters to the accommodation needs of adults and young people, while the Junior Wing is designed specifically for young visitors with safety in mind and has 170 beds available, mostly in 5-bedded rooms with en-suite shower and toilette facilitiesCampus Residence is fully-equipped and refurbished in a contemporary style, and is the ideal home away from home with all the facilities you need. A selection of single, twin and triple bedded studios incorporating a private kitchenette and en-suite shower and toilet facilities are available at excellent rates, while shared rooms for up to five people cater to the more budget conscious traveller. Bathrooms can be private or shared, and studios also feature open balconies overlooking the university sport facilities in front, and the pool at the rear.



    NTST Hibernia Residence
    NSTS Hibernia Residence on Depiro Street borders the seaside hub of Sliema and the picturesque St Julian’s Bay. Just 250 metres away are the promenade and waterfront jogging path which are a feature of this lively part of the island. Also nearby is the NSTS-English Language Institute.The Residence caters well to adults and young people with all the facilities you need. Accommodation is primarily one and two room studios, for up to 4 persons, with en-suite shower and toilet facilities, a balcony and self-catering facilities. NSTS Hibernia is also equipped to welcome persons with special needs.

Surrounding Area

  • Malta, Gonzo and their surrounding smaller islands are an archipelago that has been populated for thousands of years. Students can always visit other islands or enjoy Sun and beautiful weather along with various outdoor activities.

Facilities

  • Along with regular classrooms, students will have opportunities to visit nearby factories, industries, offices, and the hospitality industry. Students may also request that lessons be conducted on specific theme or topic of interest.

  • Free-time activities include outdoor sports, tourist sites visits, drama, music, art, optional cultural site seeing visits to historical places and more.
