At AIS, our philosophy is to nurture preschool children with curiosity, initiative, engagement, persistence and creativity with emphases on social, emotional, physical & health and cognitive development.
    - The elementary school provides a carefully structured, well-balanced curricular and extracurricular program that supports the development of the whole child. Designed to meet globally recognized US educational standards, the elementary program balances appropriate content knowledge in all subject areas with the development of essential learning skills and the school’s ESLRs.
    - The middle school program promotes academic excellence while recognizing the unique social, emotional, and physical changes of young adolescents. We incubate a personalized, compassionate, and community-oriented educational environment characterized by deeply engaged learning for all middle school students. Activity

  • OUTDOOR EDUCATION & LEADERSHIP PROGRAM
From Grade 3, our students and teachers begin a systemic program of outdoor activity days and camping. Overnight stays for our younger students gradually extend to week-long residential camps and overseas trips in both middle and high school. The Outdoor Education and Leadership Program (OELP) is a compulsory part of
our curriculum and aims to build a deeper understanding of our environment and the responsibilities we share as global citizens. AIS partners with leading NGOs from around the world in implementing community service projects through this program. Through community service opportunities our students are empowered to make
a positive difference in the lives of others. We also recognize the added value dedicated community service hours can bring to a student’s college application. This is considerable in situations where colleges and universities are seeking students with a strong academic background combined with evidence of a well-rounded education.

    ATHLETICS & SPORTS
At AIS, the sports and athletics program promotes excellence in sporting achievement and cultivates the qualities of good sportsmanship, cooperation, teamwork and respect for others. Our athletes are expected to exhibit the highest standards of responsibility and behavior in their pursuit of sporting excellence.
AIS sports teams compete in the International Schools Sports Federation of Hong Kong. This league consists of leading international schools in Hong Kong that compete over 4 eight week seasons during an academic school year. Our middle and high school students may compete in the following sports: Swimming, Cross Country, Football, Volleyball, Basketball, Badminton, Track and Field, and Touch Rugby.

    DIGITAL LEARNING
In our Grade 3 and Grade 4 programs, each student is provided with a Chromebook managed by the school. This supports a safe, rich, personalized digital learning environment for each student. Our Bring Your Own Technology (BYOT) policy enables all middle and high school students to bring their own devices to use in school.
The advanced WIFI infrastructure enables full online access for all guests, students and teachers across the entire campus.
