Camino Barcelona was founded in June 2006 and has grown to become one of the most prestigious Spanish schools in Barcelona, offering high quality Spanish courses to students from all over the world. The school is also different from other schools because the school is the ONLY school in Barcelona offering On-Site accommodation, creating a campus atmosphere right in the heart of the beautiful city of Barcelona. Students don’t need to worry about catching the metro to get to class, to go shopping, go out in the evening, or visit Barcelona’s many sights! The school, the on-site residence and apartments occupy a whole building, with private sun terraces, balconies, en-suite bathrooms and free wireless Internet access, right in the city centre. Camino Barcelona is an international community with students studying and living in the same building.
Focus of study: This is the most popular of the school's Spanish courses, as it is intensive enough to help students make rapid progress with their Spanish, whilst at the same time allowing them plenty of free time to explore Barcelona.
Benefit, goal of this course: If students are not a complete beginner, they will have a level test on the first day of their course, in which their written and spoken Spanish will be carefully assessed. Students will then be placed in a group which is correct for their level of Spanish.
Class hours: The course takes place in the mornings or afternoons, Monday to Friday, 4 lessons per day. Lessons are held at 09.00 – 12.40 or 15.00 – 18.40. (Break included)

Accommodation
On-site Superior Apartments These fully equipped, self-catering apartments are all in located the same building as the school, ideally situated in the centre of Barcelona, just 10 minutes walk from Plaza Catalunya. Each apartment has FREE Wi-Fi Internet access. There are 10 student apartments in the building, all of which are occupied by international students, studying Spanish at our school. The apartments have single rooms and twin rooms, so students can choose to have a room for themselves, or to share a room with another student. Each apartment has a modern fully-fitted kitchen, dining area, flat screen TV, plus two bathrooms. The twin rooms are also available for sole use. There is a maximum of just 5 students per apartment. Rooms with private bathrooms are also available. Many of the rooms have balconies and there are extensive sun terraces on top of the building, which are very popular with students on sunny afternoons after class, and at the weekend.
On-site Superior Residence The residence is located on the floors above the school, so, to get to school each day, students would simply go down the stairs, or use the lift! There is FREE Wi-Fi Internet access in every room of the residence. All the students in the residence are also studying Spanish at the school. As well as their accommodation, they will receive 2 meals a day. Students can also make tea or coffee, or snacks for themselves, in the kitchen. Students can choose to stay in single rooms, twin rooms, or in ‘twin rooms for sole use’. Staying in a twin room for sole use means that students have a twin room (which is considerably larger than a single room), just for them. There are two bathrooms for every three rooms in the student residence. There are also living areas, with flat screen TVs. Rooms are also available with private bathrooms and most rooms also have balconies. There are sun terraces on top of the residence, for students to use in their leisure time.
Spanish Host Families Staying with a Spanish host family is the best option for students who wish to learn as much Spanish as possible in the time available to them. This is because if students choose to stay with a Spanish host family they will be totally immersed in the Spanish language, with lots opportunities to practise with the family the Spanish that they learn in class. All the Spanish host families are carefully selected. A member of staff from the school visits the family to assess their suitability for hosting the students. All families provide a comfortable and welcoming environment for our students.
Standard Residence A student residence is a good option if students wish to stay with students, but do not want to stay in a host family and would prefer not to cook for themselves in a shared apartment. Students can choose to stay in a single room, or in a twin (shared) room. Some residences also have triple rooms. All the residences offer half board (breakfast, plus another meal) accommodation. It is sometimes possible to have bed and breakfast, or full board (3 meals per day). The standard residences offer comfortable accommodation, but not as high a standard as the superior on-site residence.
Surrounding Area
The school simply could not be better located, lying just off Gran Via, right in the centre of Barcelona – Paseo de Gracia and Plaza Cataluna are just 10 minutes’ walk away! Gaudi’s famous ‘Casa Batlló’ and ‘La Pedrera’ are also within easy walking distance of the school! When students walk out of the school, they are in the very heart of Barcelona, near all the best shops and restaurants, with the most important places of interest all around them. Where better location could there be to learn Spanish in Barcelona!
Facilities
Students have access to spacious classrooms, student common room and Internet café, a large patio and extensive roof-top sun terraces.
Activity
1. Guided walks with tutors As the school is located in the very centre of Barcelona, just 7 minutes’ walk from Plaza Cataluña, there are many places of interest within walking distance of the school. Typically, the school organises at least one guided walk per week. The school takes students to places like the Gothic Quarter, Montjuic (where the Olympic stadium is), Gaudi’s Parc Guell, The Olympic port, ‘Las Ramblas’, to mention but a few.
2. Welcome drink Every week new students come to the school. So, the school normally holds a “Welcome drink” in the evening for all students where we invite everyone a free drink in a bar close to the school. This is a great opportunity for students to meet and it is very popular with the existing students, who are naturally very interested to meet the new arrivals!
3. Evenings out with a tutor A great way to discover Barcelona is to join the tutors on an evening out. The school normally meets at the school and then go on a ‘Tapas tour’ or ’Salsa night’ or a ’Concert ’. The tutors really know Barcelona well, and these evenings are really popular with the students. The cost of the activity include the personal consumption, the entrance or guide, the Spanish practice is free!
4. Excursions during the weekend The also organises excursions to local places of Interest such as the Monastery of Montserrat, the Dali museum in Figueres, day excursions to Girona, Sitges, Tarragona or ‘Tossa de Mar’.
저는 Camino Barcelona 에서 집중 스페니쉬 프로그램을 4개월간 듣고왔어요. 대학에서 스페인어를 전공했는데 우리나라에는 스페인어 학원이 많이 발달 되어있지도 않고 스페인사람들과 만날 기회도 많지 않아서 어학연수를 다녀오게 되었어요. 마드리드 지역이랑 바르셀로나중에서 고민하다가 저에게 맞는 학교에 가는게 좋을 것 같아서 바르셀로나에 있는 camino에 가게되었어요. 6레벨로 구성되어있고 레벨테스트를 본 후에 실력에 맞는 반으로 배치가되고, 어려우면 반을 내릴수도 있어요. 저는 전공자임에도 불구하고 기초부터 다시 탄탄히 배우고 싶어서 2레벨부터 들었어요. 오전 3시간 오후3시간 이렇게 수업을 듣게되고 주말에는 학교에서 주최하는 이벤트들에 참여하게되요. 매주 새로운 학생들이 오기때문에 환영하는 환영식도 열리고, 학교에서 사귄 친구들이랑 문화체험이나 스페인 지역들을 관광하기 편하도록 학교에서 여러가지 활동들을 제공해주기도하고 관광지를 추천해주기도하고 굉장히 학교에 계신분들은 친절하세요. 기숙사에서 지내도 되고 홈스테이를 신청해도 되는데 저는 학생용 아파트에서 지냈어요. 학교에서 제공하는 아파트이기때문에 다 유학온 외국인 학생들만 살 수 있고 시설도 정말 좋았어요. 외국인 친구들하고도 거의 스페인어로 대화하기 때문에 매일매일 스피킹실력이 늘었던 것 같아요. 학교 시설이나 공부환경, 선생님이나 학생들 모든 면에서 정말 만족해요.
