Host Family
Accommodations in Spain
Living with a host family has two major
benefits. First, it's the best way to get to know Spanish culture and see what
daily life is like for a native Spaniard. Secondly, our host families will
speak to students in Spanish 100% of the time, helping ythem practice the
skills they're working on in class in an authentic context. The school’s host
families vary from young families to one or two retired people, all Spanish
speakers and are carefully selected to ensure that their stay be as pleasant as
possible. The staff does their best to find home stays that will treat students
as part of the family. The school will always try to accommodate students
within 10-30 minutes - on foot or via public transportation - from the Enforex
school, even in big cities like Madrid and Barcelona. Students may choose
between a single or double room as well as half board (breakfast & dinner)
or full board (all meals). If students have any allergies, special dietary
requirements, dislike of particular pets or any other special requests, just
let the school know in advance and the school will do their best to satisfy students’
needs.
Student Apartments in Spain If students want
to make new friends from all over the world while studying Spanish in Spain,
then this is the best option. The student apartments in Spain bring together
international students from the Enforex school in a pleasant, open atmosphere.
The apartments are not luxurious, but are completely furnished and equipped. No
meals are offered but each apartment has a kitchen with a microwave, pans,
cutlery and everything you might need to cook your own food. There are apartments
of different sizes and characteristics, booked according to availability. Most
of them are located within walking distance from the school or are accessible
by a short ride on public transportation. Students can choose between a single,
double or triple room.
Student Residences in Spain Student
residences are centrally located in most of our Enforex cities, at a maximum of
20-30 minutes from the school. Choosing this type of accommodation will allow students
to meet international and - in some cases - Spanish students in a stimulating
and fun environment. Students may choose between a single or double room and
half board (breakfast & dinner) or full board (breakfast, lunch &
dinner). Access to a private bathroom may be possible. There are 4 different
types of residences - availability varies by destination. All our residences
offer wireless internet access.
University Campus Residences These
residences are big (from 35 to 150 students) and are mainly for Spanish
University students. University residences tend to be available only in the
summertime, although in some cities, such as Valencia and Granada, students may
be able to find a room during the normal school year. Because of limited
availability, the school cannot guarantee a placement in these residences.
Enforex
Student Residences These residences are much smaller (8 to 25
students) and are shared by international Enforex students. It is similar to a
shared student apartment, but here students can have half board or full board
and their clothes washed once a week. Family Style Residences Family Style
Residences are small residences run by a family. The average number of rooms is
5 or 6, and in most cases the student rooms are located in a different part of
the house. The family is in charge of cooking for the students, who may have
the meals together with the family or in a separate dining
room.
Student Residences without Board Although
meals are not included in this type of residence, there is a large kitchen open
at the students' disposal. This communal space is fully equipped with all the
essentials: utensils, stoves, ovens, microwaves, electric coffee makers and
refrigerators. There are also washing and drying machines available. Shared
areas are cleaned once a week.
Surrounding Area
Madrid: the city that only sleeps when it feels like it. Swinging, jiving and rocking like very few places in Europe, the capital of Spain offers the almost unique combination of being a large administrative center, with all the services and facilities, that such thing entails, and, at the same time, offering one of the most enthralling entertainment scenes around, packed with all the eccentricities that pertain to a modern metropolis. Consisting of a modern, two-story building in the northern end of the city center, the premises are within a stone's throw of the Argüelles, San Bernardo and Ventura Rodríguez tube stations, easily linking it with lines 2, 3, 4 and 6. What's more, the school is just a short walk away (10 minutes, at the most) from one of the trendiest areas in the entertainment district, with a virtually endless offer of places and styles of food and drinks. Equipped to house as many as 400 students, our Spanish school in Madrid welcomes pupils of all ages from all over the world, as well as Spaniards who join us to study English, French and German. It's a tremendously multicultural environment, where everyone is open to meet other people, to exchange different impressions from distant perspectives and, ultimately, to experience something altogether new with people from other places who could, in the end, become new best friends.
Facilities
The school facilities include recently renovated 2-storey
building with ample natural light, 40 classrooms with audio-visual equipment, large
common room with vending machines, computer lab with 20 computers and free
Internet access, Wi-Fi (wireless access throughout the school), well-equipped
library and video library, teacher's room, spacious central patio, air
conditioning and central heating.
Activity
As the capital city of Spain, has a lifetime of
activities to offer. The school organizes daily afternoon activities to
discover the culture that surrounds them, such as, walking tours (Bourbon
Madrid, Hapsburg Madrid, Modern Madrid...), museum visits (Prado, Reina
Sofia, Sorolla, Archaeological...), royal palace, historic
churches
Retiro
Park, tour of the Santiago Bernabeu (Real Madrid's football stadium).
The school also organizes weekend excursions. Madrid's location smack in the
middle of the Iberian Peninsula means that no Spanish city is more than an 8
hour drive away. Students can sign up for a variety of weekend excursions. A
few of the most frequent trips from the Spanish school in Madrid are, Toledo,
Alcalá de Henares, El Escorial, Warner Bros. Amusement Park,
Segovia and Aranjuez.
