Established in 1974, Griffith College is Ireland's largest independent third-level institution with locations in Dublin, Cork and Limerick.
The main Dublin campus is located within a mile of St. Stephen's Green on Dublin's South Circular Road. Situated on seven acres and offering a wide range of amenities, it is a historic site with original campus buildings dating back to 1813.

With our flexible English for General Purposes Programmes, you can study for 15 hours (morning or afternoon). You have the choice of topping these hours up with an afternoon elective of 5 hours per week, giving you a total of 20 hours of tuition per week. Whichever Programme you choose, both fluency and accuracy will be the focus of study as we aim to help you with personal and professional development, giving you an advantage in whatever life path you decide to pursue.

The International Foundation Programme is available to students who are planning to enrol on a higher education programme with Griffith College or other higher education institutes but who do not meet the academic and/or English language entry requirements. The programme is delivered through the medium of English.
The Study Skills component of the programme is essential preparation for university life, helping students to work effectively in groups, present ideas, manage their time, conduct research, take lecture notes, organise the content of essays and understand how to evaluate their own work.
Timetabled lessons per week include lectures, directed self-study and enquiry-based group work. Lessons take the form of classes, workshops, tutorials and field trips.
Progress is monitored by continuous assessment of coursework and by the use of class tests. Final grades are based on a mixture of coursework and end-of-course examinations.
This Foundation Programme gives students the opportunity to demonstrate their academic potential and suitability for entry to higher education programmes.
This programme runs over five days, Monday – Friday. On average the programme involves 22.25 hours per week of direct contact time, with 10 hours allocated to English language and the remainder allocated to lectures, laboratories and tutorials in the other modules. Three additional hours per week are scheduled to provide one-to-one consultation sessions between learners and members of the programme team.

Library & Computer Services
The library at Griffith College Cork gives students access to a wide range of information through various forms such as printed textbooks, online eBooks, online databases and different forms of multimedia. The college’s virtual learning environment – Moodle, gives students access to a wide range of legal, accounting, business, computing, marketing, journalism and pharmaceutical business journals and online resources. The UbiCast facility is also available in select lecture rooms. This facility allows students to view the recording of the lecture remotely from anywhere in the world.
Wi-Fi access is available for students throughout the campus. There are also designated computer laboratories located around the campus which are available for students to use for scheduled periods. Printing facilities are available for students in the library area. All computing resources are maintained by the college’s IT services department.
