The school has been teaching English to international students since 1977, and pride themselves on being one of Ireland's most reputable English language schools, attracting students from all over the world. The courses cater for all levels of English from Elementary to Advanced. Throughout the year the also offers tailor made courses for Business English, Teacher Training and Literature.The school has wifi throughout the classrooms and common areas that is free of charge to all students. All classrooms are equipped with flatscreen LCD computers and laptops that allow the tutors to introduce electronic content during the learning experience. Students should also make use of the library where there are simplified readers for English Language students at every level. In addition, there are many other books in stock. Students can borrow cassettes and language books to study during their free time in the school. Ask the teacher for advice. Remember that work doesn't stop when the classes finish!Students can also borrow movie videos from the front office and watch them downstairs in the afternoons. This facility is available only Monday - Thursday (Sept - June) and during July and August students can also watch a video on a Friday afternoon.
Curriculum : When you arrive, you will be given a written test and an interview. You will then be placed in a class according to your level. There are 6 levels at The Linguaviva Centre, which are based on performance in all 4 skills, speaking, listening, reading and writing. All elements of English language learning – Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking - are covered in general English classes. The school favours the communicative method. The most up-to-date textbooks are used in class together with authentic materials. The school has developed excellent supplementary materials for all its courses. Videos and audio cassettes are also valuable resources. Students have an oral and written examination on arrival and are requested to come to school at 08.30 on the first day. Students are usually in class by 10.15 on their first day having completed their test.
This course are scheduled in the morning with 20 lessons per week in total. The wide-ranging syllabus will improve your listening, reading, writing, and speaking skills. Classroom sizes range from 6 to 8 students per class and maximum 12 students. Every effort is made to keep classes at an ideal size for effective English language instruction.
Sample Time Table: 20 classes per week Classes begin at 09.00 and finish at 13.00 Monday – Friday Coffee break at 10.40

The Linguaviva Centre is located in an elegant Georgian house on Lower Leeson Street, beside St. Stephen’s Green, which is the city’s central park. The school is within walking distance of the main shopping area of Grafton Street, the National Art Gallery, Trinity College, the National Library and other museums.
Facilities
The school has a fully equipped computer room with high speed broadband, and the school also offers WiFi everywhere in the building. The school has a new games room offering table tennis, air hockey, table football and snooker/pool. The school also has a new student cinema where students can watch popular English TV programmes and films on a new 46” flat screen! There are flat screens in use in all the class rooms offering some integrated E-Learning for the students.
Activity
The school offers a varied and interesting programme of extra-curricular activities including films, walking-tours, lectures, talks, evening outings and excursions. The social organiser accompanies students on all outings in Dublin. Once a week, places of historic and cultural interest are visited, such as Dublin Castle, Malahide Castle, Trinity College, The Writers' Museum, Dublinia. Full day and weekend excursions to such places as Glendalough, Kilkenny and Newgrange are led by a teacher. Every day an English video is shown in the school free of charge to all students. Many students take advantage of this chance to just relax and socialise with students of other nationalities in the common-room.
