Founded in 2012, the Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong (THEi) is a member institute of the Vocational Training Council (VTC). In Academic Year 2022/23, THEi offers 20 innovative degree programmes across our three Faculties of Design and Environment, Management and Hospitality and Science and Technology that are vocationally and professionally oriented and developed with significant industry input. Our degree programmes are accredited by the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications, and also accredited by the relevant professional bodies where appropriate.  THEi prepares Work Ready, Future Ready graduates through our strong applied degree and professional education programmes.  All programmes require work integrated learning (WIL) and engage students in active learning pedagogies including a strong focus on project-based learning involving real-world problem solving with and for local industries and professions. 

The VTC Halls of Residence (Pokfulam) is a six-storey building adjacent to the VTC Pokfulam Complex which Hotel and Tourism Institute / Chinese Culinary Institute / International Culinary Institute located in the Southern District of the Hong Kong Island. It is about 10-minute ride from and to the HKU MTR Station. There are 132 residence places in the Hall providing people-oriented services to the students and enable them to learn and grow together through the cross-cultural environment.

The VTC Halls of Residence (Tsing Yi) is a newly-built twelve-storey Hall, located in Tsing Yi Island and adjacent to the THEi (Tsing Yi) and IVE(Tsing Yi). The Hall provides 880 resident places for students. Residence in student halls enriches study life and adds value to the whole person development of students. All full time students of Degree programmes and High Diploma programmes of VTC member institutes are eligible to apply for resident places.

Chai Wan THEi campus, a new purpose-built campus is now in operation. The attractive twin-tower building design - rarely seen in Hong Kong schools - will provide a dynamic and engaging learning environment for students. The green architecture and design - opening the campus to an adjacent public park to embrace outdoor public green space and enjoy a high permeability of natural light and air - establish its eco-friendly credentials.
