The Goethe-Institut is the official cultural institute of the Federal Republic of Germany since 1951 and has a network of 136 Goethe-Instituts and 11 liaison offices in 93 countries, 750 cooperative partners around the world and 13 Goethe-Instituts in Germany at the moment. There are 185.000 language students per year learning German at one of the Goethe-Instituts worldwide.Each year approximately 32,000 course participants from all over the world appreciate our high-quality, systematic and wide-ranging program of German courses at our 13 locations in Germany. Our exciting cultural and leisure program guarantee a smooth start and rapid integration into daily life in Germany. Clients may also choose whether to stay in a private accommodation or in our guesthouses. The Goethe-Institut is the Federal Republic of Germany’s cultural institution operational worldwide. We promote the study of German abroad and encourage international cultural exchange. We also foster knowledge about Germany by providing information on its culture, society and politics. Students will also get to know Germany and its people intheir everyday lives as they live, work and enjoy themselves.
Benefit, goal of this course: At the start of the course teachers will ask students about their individual learning goals and follow up with ongoing support during the learning process. This results in tight integration of the classroomlessons, self-study activities and practice. At all levels students also have the option of taking one of our examinations which are recognized around the world.
Class hours: The intensive German course offers year-round 4-week or 8-week courses. Students can choose a morning class or an afternoon class. Lesson times are Monday to Friday 8:30 AM - 1 PM or 1:30 - 6 PM.

Single, double or maisonette rooms in the guesthouse Single rooms are approximately 18 sq. meters (200 sq.ft.) and double rooms are approximately 24 sq. meters (260 sq.ft.). Basic, functional furnishings, bed linen and towels, cable TV connection, small refrigerator and set of dishes, cooking facilities in four shared kitchens, two common rooms, regular cleaning of kitchen and common rooms, WLAN/internet access in common rooms, TV room, washing machine and dryer (subject to charge), bicycle garage, underground garage for cars (fees apply) are provided. It is located near the institute.
Homestay arrangements Basic furnishings, bed linen and towels are provided. Students will share bathroom and kitchen. It is located within the city.
Surrounding Area
The Goethe-Institut Freiburg is surrounded by a garden. It is just five minutes from the railway station, the city center with the university and its dining hall, and the Stühlinger student district, where the institute's guesthouse is located.
Facilities
There are 13 well-equipped classrooms, media resource center, WLAN, music room, concert grand and upright piano, cafeteria, a pleasant terrace and a large garden.

All students can participate in day trips and
weekend excursions, city walking tour and guided tours, visit to
museums and exhibitions, theater performances, concerts and
opera, company and university tours, film nights at the
institute, sports programs, parties, social encounters and pub nights.
