CAS is internally assessed. Students reflect on their CAS experiences as part of the Diploma Pogramme, and provide evidence of achieving the seven learning outcomes for CAS, which are:
Students identify their own strengths and develop areas for growth
Students should demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken and that new skills are developed in the process
Students must show commitment to and perseverance in completing CAS experiences
Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively
Think about and reflect upon the ethical implications of their choices
TOK
Theory of Knowledge (TOK) plays a special role in the IB Diploma Programme as it connects to all subjects and informs the approach to learning. TOK is also a course that is designed to get student think critically about what we know, how we produce knowledge and the tools we use to determine if knowledge is credible.
TOK is a course that is centered around knowledge questions and inquiry. It is organized by examining knowledge through a variety of themes and areas of knowledge.
The Extended Essay
The Extended Essay is an independent piece of research, culminating with a 4,000 word paper.
This core element provides practical preparation for undergraduate research and an opportunity for students to investigate a topic of personal interest to them. Students are supported throughout the process of researching and writing the Extended Essay, with advice and guidance from a supervisor who is usually a teacher at the school.

Facilities
School library
The library supports the curriculum at all grade levels and provides opportunities for students to pursue their interests in learning, studying and reading. Students may request specific information or ask for assistance with searches or bibliographic information to help them in their research. All the students from the Reception Class, Year 1, and Year 3 visit the library on a regular basis for reading time and to check out books once a week during normal lessons. Primary and secondary students can also use the library during the breaks between blocks and during study time. Senior students are welcome to use the library as a place to study and read when they are not scheduled elsewhere. Parents are welcome to visit the library with their children for quiet reading and for book selection.
Activity
Afternoon Programmes
As an all-day school we enable children to learn and grow by expanding their horizons outside of the classroom. When formal lessons have ended, our afternoon activities encourage children to explore their world and learn in a more hands-on environment. Our Project Classes give children the chance to develop their hobbies and interests, or to hone their academic skills, while our Afternoon Recreation Areas allow children to learn freely through structured play and activities.
- Afternoon Recreation Areas
In order to provide an appropriate age-level working environment, our Afternoon Recreation Ares are split into groups. Pre-school and Reception Class, Years 1–5, and Years 6 & up each have their own respective areas of activities and leisure each afternoon. The programme for the Afternoon Recreation Ares includes special projects, crafting, organized activities, and play time. The activities are prepared by the professional educators and the schedule of activities is hung in the entrance hall each week.
- Secondary Afternoon Recreation
During the afternoon the pupils of the Secondary Sections have the choice to take a project, stay in the secondary afternoon recreational area or use the time for studying and homework.
International Exchanges
Since 2013 our Year 8 has a regular exchange programme with a school in Badalona (Barcelona), Spain. The Spanish students visit the CJD International School Braunschweig – Wolfsburg for a week, where our Year 8s and their guest students share some outdoor and school activities. In the evenings and on the weekend the students spend time with their host families. In the month of May the same experience takes place in the nice town on the Catalan coast, situated a few kilometres from Barcelona city centre. It is a wonderful chance to practise and improve language skills and to better get to know a new culture.
