Schlossgymnasium KünzelsauAbout the
The Schlossgymnasium Künzelsau is a general secondary school with boarding from class to class 11. We offer motivated young people from different countries, school types and class levels the opportunity to acquire the general higher education entrance qualification after class 13. Holistic, comprehensive education and the development of personality are important our task and special concern. Our actions are essentially determined by an open and trusting dialogue between teachers, students and parents. Historic and modern buildings on our campus and the manageable size of our school ensure a pleasant, familiar atmosphere in which young people can feel comfortable and learn effectively. We are a small, family school. Our function as a secondary school allows us to set up small classes; usually they are not much larger than 20 students. This enables teachers to have more time per student for advice and individual support. You get to know each other very quickly, anonymity is a foreign word to us.
With our 11c, we offer a follow-up class especially for high school students (with a high school diploma) who want to take the general school leaving certificate with us. A second connection class, the 11g, is aimed at graduates of the community school at E-level. The Schlossgymnasium therefore has an important function: We guarantee the permeability of the school system, i.e. the successful transition from one type of school to another. That is why we will continue to be a G9 high school in the future. When entering class 7, you have to decide whether you want to major in sports or music. Accordingly, one attends the "sports class" or the "music class" with additional lessons and AGs in the respective subject.Music or physics are profile subjects in 11c, French can be started afresh.
Sport is a profile subject in 11g, but French must have been taken in middle school. Benefit, Goal of this course : Since the 2005/06 school year, we have introduced all-day schooling in the "bound form" for all pupils in grades 7, 8 and 9, which means that parents can rely on the fact that lessons take place from 7:45 a.m. to 4:35 p.m. and Almost complete care is also guaranteed at lunchtime and when there are no hours. The program of our all-day school also includes lunch together in the dining room of our castle, so that you can regain your strength for the afternoon lessons. However, there are no afternoon classes on Wednesdays and Fridays, so that club sports and confirmation classes remain possible on these days.

About a quarter of all pupils at the Schlossgymnasium live in the boarding school on the school campus – usually in single rooms spread over seven buildings. Four trained social workers or educators are responsible for the internal; they always have an open ear for problems of all kinds, ensure that everyday life runs smoothly, offer events and ensure that the boarding school rules are observed. However, in order to integrate the boarding school into everyday school life, several teachers are involved in the boarding school team.
In the Schlossgymnasium, the cooperation between the boarding school students on the one hand and the educators on the other hand is very important. That's why a boarding school council meets every two weeks to plan events and help shape the boarding school environment together. The mission statement of the boarding school, which describes the foundation of our coexistence, also emerged from the work of this boarding school council.
