CLE Tours language schoolAbout the
Founded in 1985, CLE aims to create an environment ensuring students would have the most favorable conditions to achieve their goal of learning French. To accelerate the learning process, there are never more than 7 students per class. Additionally all courses are taught by highly qualified teachers, specialized in the teaching of French to foreigners. Unlike many language schools found in France, the particularity of CLE is that it receives people of all ages: students but also many adults who learn French for pleasure or for their work or because they are now retired. Different ages, motivations and culture background is a richness that contributes to CLE’s highly effective educational atmosphere.
With 38 years of teaching and management experiences, CLE obtained a French as a Foreign Language Quality Certification given by 4 ministries in 2019.
In general french course, students have options to choose their learning mode in one of the followings: group class, 1:1 private lesson, combined lessons, and Delf-Dalf Package.
CLE integrates into the organisation of its courses the framework put together by the Council of Europe known as the “Common European Framework of Reference for Languages” (CEFRL). This framework provides a uniform evaluation method for the learning of languages across Europe. It provides for the following six levels of language-learning proficiency: A1 and A2 relate to the elementary user; B1 and B2 relate to the independent user; and C1 and C2 relate to the proficient user.
This framework guides our teachers in setting their teaching objectives.
Whilst we work on all four competencies (namely understanding written French, understanding spoken French, writing French and speaking French), we prioritise the speaking of French. At all levels, you will develop your knowledge of grammar and vocabulary and you will study the sound and written form of words. Using a range of original materials, you will become familiar with the language used in various different situations and discover more about French culture.
The objective is to develop what CLE call «savoir-faire» (or expertise) in communication, language and French culture which will enable you to handle situations independently after your time at CLE.
CLE offers courses for complete beginners through to advanced learners.
Group lessons give students an opportunity to experience the French way of life.
Benefit, Goal of this course : Students will have an opportunity to live in the heart of French culture and to fully enjoy an immersion stay in France while learning French in a professional and friendly atmosphere.
Oral focused lessons are offered in the morning. Student will also have chance to immerse themselves in French culture and practice French through workshops and activities on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons.

The results of the exam will help us determine which group and level corresponds best to your needs. If you’re inexperienced or just beginning your journey with the French language, the exam time is adjusted, and we begin the first lesson quickly after.
