In the early 1960s, a young swedish man named Bertil Hult went to UK for the first time. I was a student who always had had difficulties in studying because of dyslexia. But surprisingly in UK he learned English with not that many difficulties. So he became sure that traditional teaching method in classes is not always effective and decided to establish a small company named Europeiska Ferieskolan (European Holiday School or EF) combining language education and traveling abroad. Bertil made a programme that provides field study outside a class and named it Sprakresor, that is to say Language Travel. Today, field study is the foundation of modern education. It has been philosophy supporting all EF programs for 50 years.

Homestay Live with an English-speaking family. Homestaying is the perfect way to experience home-away-from-home. You will enjoy all the comforts of home life: security, comfort and home cooked food, plus, you will have a unique cultural experience (it's a great way to directly learn about British culture). In addition, you will be able to use your English in a natural environment outside of the classroom. Twin Rooms are available if you book with a friend. Distance to school: 20 - 50 minute bus
Student Residence Single room in shared accommodation. Your own room in a shared apartment means you'll have your own privacy and still be able to connect with international students using English. Residences have communal open lounge-kitchen areas with all the cooking facilities you need. Linen will be provided by the school; however you should bring your own towels. Common areas are cleaned by school staff and you will be responsible for cleaning your own bedrooms. All residences have single rooms with either en-suite or shared bathrooms. Every room has plenty of storage place, internet access (bring your laptop) and a large desk good for self-study.
