British Study Centres ManchesterAbout the
British Study Centres is an award winning group of English language schools with established year-round study centres in London, Oxford, Brighton & Bournemouth and junior vacation centres in England, Scotland and the United States. We offer general English, business English and exam preparation courses as well as English programmes for young learners and TEFL teacher training courses. Close to famous Oxford Street and the Bond Street and Baker Street tube stations, our partner school has all the modern facilities you need to make progress in English. Apart from the 16 bright and spacious classrooms (23 during the high season), students have access to a resource centre with a library, audio and CD-rom material, a computer room with flat-screen computers where they can access the Internet and make use of computerised language-learning methods. The school also has a WiFi network. There is a study centre where students can take university-type courses in Business, Computers, Hotel Management and Tourism, as well as a Job Club.
Focus of Study : Ideal for those students wishing to have more spare time in the afternoon to join in the social activities programme and to discover life in the UK.
Curriculum :
We work with a coursebook during the first 3 lessons of the day from 9:15 to 12:05, Monday to Friday, concentrating on the four main skills - speaking, listening, reading and writing. As well as these four main skills we will also work on other key areas to help develop your fluency and accuracy - pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, idioms. Speaking & Listening lessons are an extra opportunity for fluency practice. Sessions are designed to help students improve their spoken English and gain confidence for day-to-day communication. Lessons typically include role play, listening and group discussions.
