Established in 1969, ELC Bristol offers intensive General English coursesand Examination Preparation courses for the IELTS and Cambridge exams. We are a member of TEN (the English Network), IALC (International Association of Language Centres), English UK and we are accredited by the British Council. With the focus on teaching General English and preparing students successfully for internationally recognized examinations, we aim to provide high quality education in the English language by recruiting and retaining a team of highly experienced and qualified teachers. The students are the most important people in the school and every member of staff is here to help you get the most out of your time in the UK. - High reputation due to its kind teachers and well-structured program. A English Level test for the placement between Pembroke House (main building) or the Avon House. Afternoon IELTS classes are only available to those who are studying upper intermediate, or people who are preparing for University, or people who want to deepen their knowledge for English. FCE, CAE, CPE exams are also taught so there are lots of Europeans too.
Focus of Study : The program focuses on all-round improvement in English including Grammar, Listeing/Pronunciation practice, Reading/Vocabulary building/ Speaking skills, and others such as conversation skills and exam practice. Students will have regular tests and interviews with the main teacher to check their improvement.Higher level students can choose from a range of electives including Business English and British Life and Culture.
Curriculum : All courses include a minimum of 28 English language lessons per week (21 hours) + daily homework. There are 6 levels from Elementary to Advanced. On the first day, student will take a placement test so that the school can place him in a language class at the right level.Average class size is 10 and may go up to 14 students per class. As a part of the course, students can prepare for the Cambridge First Certificate, Advanced and Proficiency exams, the IELTS exam and BULATS (the Cambridge Business exam).

Homestay accommodation includes bed (single room), breakfast and evening meal.Staying with one of our caring homestays is the best way to experience the British way of life. Some students like to be independent, as a result, self-catering accommodation is very popular at ELC Bristol. In self-catering accommodation you will be living with other students from the school. All of our self-catering accommodation is within 20 minutes' walk of the school. There are 100 single rooms available for students which is usable from lat June till September when Summer course finishes and they can cook their own food. Distance from the school and accommodation is about 10-15 minute walk and there is a beautiful garden with tennis court and historic house.Each apartment has 2 shower rooms, 1 toilet. Each room has sink, single bed, desk, chair, and closet. Linens are provded, but individual tower, soap, etc have to be prepared. Laundry room is available at underground level, and there is free internet connection.
Surrounding Area
Bristol is the cultural centre of the West of England and a lively university city. Many say that Bristol is the best city in England - there is so much to do and see. ELC Bristol is located close to the university in Clifton, the best part of town. Near the center there are theatres, cinemas, festivals, clubs, pubs, restaurants, museums, art/galleries, shopping and many other for students to enjoy.

Activity
Every Saturday after paying about 24 Pounds (for those who want), will visit a lot of traveling points and historical places where you can taste what England is really like. Excluding all this, a lot of sports and school events are ran for free. This institution is certified by British Council and one of the members of English UK. Because of its high reputation, it is recommended to register 4 months before or at least 2 months before. Musical at the Hippodrome: Hairspray, International Food Picnic, Friday Film Club or Friday Sports, Excursion to Dartmoor and Plymouth, School Party and much more!
