Homestay
Homestay is an excellent, cost-effective choice for students
wishing to have a safe and secure study and travel experience. Staying with a
host family gives students the opportunity to have a richer cultural experience
and practice new English skills daily. Host families help students to adapt to
life in Canada, by offering advice and a safe and warm environment in which to
live.
A GEOS staff member visits each host family home to ensure
it’s a safe, welcoming place where our students will be happy. All families have
also had a police background check, and they have agreed to follow the GEOS
guidelines for hosting students. Our aim is to provide our students with a
secure, educational and home experience. Our host families live in safe,
comfortable residential neighborhoods, between 35 – 45 minutes from the school
by bus. Contact us directly for more information.
Student Residence
In summer months, students can also choose to live in a
university residence, located in downtown Ottawa, about 10 minutes from the
school. These single or double rooms are available from May to August, and offer
a more independent living experience in Ottawa’s convenient downtown core.
Private Apartments
A limited number of furnished apartments are sometimes
available and GEOS can supply information for students to select and reserve on
their own.
