Sydney City College of Management (SCCM) is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) that is focused on providing quality education and training in fully- accredited courses. We are currently delivering our programs from four campus locations– Parramatta, Sydney, Darwin and Adelaide. SCCM offers over 20 nationally recognised qualification in from Certificate IV, Diploma, Advanced Diploma and Graduate Diploma. Focus of Study : This is a trade qualification for carpenters in residential and commercial workplaces. It includes setting out, manufacturing, constructing, assembling, installing and repairing products made using timber and non-timber materials.

State and territory jurisdictions may have different licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements. Relevant state and territory regulatory authorities should be consulted to confirm those requirements.
Benefit, Goal of this course : Completion of the general construction induction training program, specified in the Safe Work Australia model Code of Practice: Construction Work, is required by anyone carryingout construction work. Achievement of CPCCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry meets this requirement.
This qualification is suitable for an Australian apprenticeship pathway.

Licensing
Carpentry is a licensed occupation. When you successfully complete the Certificate III in Carpentry, you’ll be eligible to apply for state licensing and work in the industry.
Certification
After completion of this course and all assessments, you will be issued with the Nationally Recognised Qualification CPC30220 – Certificate III in Carpentry.
A Statement of Attainment will be issued to students who partially complete this course.

§ Have completed at least the equivalent of year 12 education.
§ Participate in a course entry interview to determine suitability for the course and student needs.
§ Participate in an LLN (Language, Literacy and Numeracy) assessment*, if applicable, to determine and demonstrate their readiness and learning capacity to undertake their desired course.
§ Have an overall IELTS** score of 5.5 with no individual band score of less than 5.0 (test results must be not more than two (2) years old). English language competence can also be demonstrated through documented evidence of any of the following:
– the student was educated in an English-speaking country for at least five (5) years; or
– the student has completed at least six (6) months of a minimum of AQF level 3 course or higher in an Australian RTO within the last two (2) years; or
– the student has successfully completed an English Placement Test at SCCM.
* For detail about LLN requirements and assessment process, please refer to the ‘LLN (Language, Literacy and Numeracy) Requirements’ section in International Student Handbook.
** Note that other English language tests such as PTE and TOEFL can be accepted. In that case, students are required to provide their results so that it can be confirmed they are equivalent to minimum IELTS score of 5.5 or higher.
