Getting to the school from the airport, 3D School view
Kaplan Transfers Students can either fly into Santa Barbara Airport (SBA), or to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). The latter is located about 90 minutes from Santa Barbara.
If you have paid for the Transfer Service, a greeter holding a Kaplan sign will meet you at the airport:
• LAX arrivals: LAX has both international and domestic flights. International flights: the greeter waits at the customs exit (not baggage claim because everyone has to claim baggage before the exit). Domestic flights: the greeter meets at the exit before baggage claim. • SBA arrivals: SBA only has domestic flights. Domestic flights: The greeter will meet the student at the gate exit before baggage claim.
You should look carefully for the greeter in the locations specified above. If you do not see the greeter, you should go to the Information Desk and say, “Page the Kaplan Airport greeter”, and the greeter will come to find you.
If you have any flight changes, miss a connecting flight, or need help meeting the Transfer Service, you should call the school’s emergency number at +1 805-966-1620 for help, and be prepared to tell them your name, school name (Kaplan Santa Barbara) and location.
Independent Transfers If arriving at Santa Barbara Airport, you can take a taxi to your homestay, for $20- $40. If arriving at Los Angeles International Airport, you can book the Santa Barbara Airbus (www.sbairbus.com) for $45 one-way, and then take a taxi from the bus stop to your homestay (approximately $20-$40).
