Conditional Admission
Some students have strong academic backgrounds and training but have not had enough preparation in English, as measured by the TOEFL test. These students are given conditional admission to ISU. They attend INTERLINK to improve their English. When they complete INTERLINK's English program, they are fully admitted to ISU. No TOEFL score is required in this instance.

INTERLINK Language Centers at Indiana State University (ISU) has been helping students achieve their goals since 1987. Located in Terre Haute, Indiana, INTERLINK at ISU provides quality English training, cultural orientation and academic preparation. Most of our students go on to ISU after meeting their needs at INTERLINK, but others who do not plan to attend ISU choose INTERLINK at ISU for their ESL training. The magazine currently classifies Indiana State University as a tier 2 national university. The current Carnegie classification for ISU is Doctoral/Research University. Indiana State University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. On-campus housing is available to all applicants who enter the program in January or August and plan to study at INTERLINK for an entire semester (two terms). On-campus housing is usually only available at UNCG in summer . Students arriving in October or March can live on campus if space is available. Summer students can live on campus for four, eight, or twelve weeks. Applicants must make advance reservations for on-campus housing. We also arrange housing for students with carefully-selected American families. Students are encouraged to apply at least 12 weeks in advance to secure their preferred type of housing. Homestays are available at all campuses except UNCG.

Located in a picturesque setting, Saint Mary-of-the-Woods is one of America's oldest liberal arts colleges for women. Terre Haute is within a driving distance of 1-4 hours from Indianapolis, Chicago, St. Louis and Cincinnati. The state capitol, Indianapolis, home of the famous "Indy 500" automobile race, is about one hour's drive from Terre Haute.
