The American Language and Culture Institute (ALCI) is the English language program at California State University San Marcos. We offer many programs for international students and travelers. Instructors in our Intensive Academic Preparation program have Master's Degrees and several years of teaching experience. California State University San Marcos is a public comprehensive university in San Marcos, California, United States, and one of the 23 campuses of the California State University system. San Marcos is a suburban town in the North County area of San Diego County. It was founded in 1989 as the 20th CSU campus. The first class was admitted in 1990.CSU San Marcos offers 62 different Bachelor's degrees, 15 master's degrees, an Ed.D. program, and 13teaching credentials. The university has four colleges: the College of Business Administration; the College of Science and Mathematics; the College of Humanities, Arts, Behavioral and Social Sciences; and the College of Education, Health and Human Services.

간단한 정보를 좀 알고싶어요,..

샌 마르코스는 지리적으로도 그렇고 학생 분포도도 그렇고 매우 좋은 쪽에 속하는 학교입니다.
또한 이 학교는 62개의 서로 다른 석사학위 프로그램, 15개의 박사학위, 그리고 13개의 교수법 프로그램을 제공합니다. 또한, 경영대학, 수학 및 과학 대학, 인문예술대학, 예술 대학, 교육대학 등 4개의 대학으로 구성되어 있습니다.
직장 때문에 갔어요. 영어를 많이 쓰는 직업인데 제가 그 만큼 따라오지 못하는거 같아서 고민하다
어학연수를 갔어요. 돌아오고 나서 얼마 안되서 전에 다니던 직장보다 더 좋은 곳으로 이직해서 기쁘구요.
어학연수의 힘이 크지 않았나 싶습니다.
그리고 일단은 제가 안전에 우선을 두는데요, 이메일로 학교의 알람을 받는데 그 중에서 가장 떠올랐던 점은
샌마르코스는 캘리포니아에서 가장안전한 4년 학교이고, 24시간 내내 캠퍼스를 순찰하는 경찰이 있다는 내용이었어요.
미국유학을 하고 있거나, 생각하고 있는 저같은 사람에게는 이런 정보가 정말 고마웠어요. 조금 복잡한 샌디에고하고 LA에서 불과 몇 마일 떨어져 있지않은데도
캘리포니아, 샌마르코스는 조용해요. 캠퍼스가
그 뉴스 이후에 더 생각이 나서 둘러보게 되었는데 확실이 보안이 잘 되어 있다는 것을 느꼈어요.
또한, 영어 최저 필요조건을 충족하는 학생들은 학점 인정되는 CSU 산마르코스의 수업 수강 가능하다는 것이 더 좋았구요.
저는 ESL프로그램을 이미 이수했기때문에 별도의 토플 성적없이 캘리포니아 주립대학교 산마르코스에 조건부 입학 할수 있었어요.
그래서 어려움 없이 잘 진학 했구요. 저같은 영어 초보자가 입학 할 정도면 바짝 열심히 공부 하시면 어려움 없이 들어갈 수 있을거 같아요.
저는 집중영어 프로그램 (Intensive Academic Preparation Program )을 들었구요. 16주 정도 다녀왔습니다.
한 16명에서 20명 사이에 인원으로 수업을 항상 진행하기 때문에 조용한 편이었고 대화와 토론의 분위기로 수업이 진행되었어요.
저는 학교내 숙박을 선택 할 수 있었지만 외국 문화를 접하고 싶은 마음에 홈스테이를 신청하였구요,
홈스테이 해주셨던 부부는 백인부부에 대학생 한명을 둔 가정이었어요. 그리고 학교도 같아서 공통점이 많은 편이라서 이야기도 많이 나누었고 캘리포니아는 아시아 분포도가 많기때문에 그 친구도 아시아인에 대해서 거리깜도 없어서 그 점이 좋았어요. 캘리포니아 이다보니 어려움 없이 샌디애고나 LA 쪽으로 갈 수 있었구요 Public transportation service 가 매우 발달 된 편이라서 차 없이도 이동 할 수 있는 거리가 많았어요. 그래서 큰 어려움은 없었어요.
좋은 친구들도 많이 사귀고 영어에 대한 무서움도 떨치게 된거 같아서 기쁘네요 ㅎㅎ
다음번에 여행이나 또 어학 삼아서 가고싶은 도시에요
캘리포니아로 가신다면 샌마르코스 추천하고 싶습니다.
