The library's most recent remodelling was finished in the fall of 2009, and on November 19, 2009, it was formally opened. The new Coe East wing, which increased the library's size by 94,500 square feet (8,780 m2), was created by Hinthorne Mott Architects.

Before the field house was completed in 1951, the Half Acre Gym building was built to house the Laramie National Guard Armory and the athletic activities. The Wyoming State Legislature gave the university a gift to utilise for new construction, including a library, the gym and armoury, a power plant, an engineering building, and an enlargement of the Hoyt Hall dorm, in order to pay for this project.
