- Coastal Carolina University (CCU) is a dynamic, public comprehensive liberal arts institution located in Conway, just minutes from the resort area of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, which hosts about 13 million tourists annually. Description:
Named after the southern coastal, swampy area of South Carolina, the Low Country community houses students in apartment-style units. Each apartment is furnished with a washer/dryer, refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, stove, garbage disposal, upholstered sofa and chair, kitchen table and chairs, and an outdoor patio/balcony area. Each bedroom is furnished with a cable TV connection, high speed internet connection, bed, desk and chair, chest of drawers and a closet. Four-bedroom apartments offer individual bedrooms with private bathrooms.
Surrounding Area
The local area provides more than 100 golf courses, theatres and clubs, world-class shopping, exceptional restaurants, and 90 km of beaches, making the area a popular, yet affordable resort destination. Students have access to a wide range of services and facilities on campus, such as a library and information open 24 hours a day during academic sessions, research labs, wireless internet access, an extensive fitness facility, nationally competitive sports teams and the University golf course. In addition, Coastal Carolina recently received a national award for its civic engagement programs that bring students to the community to help out in many different ways through organized programming. Students also have access to campus apartment style housing within walking distance (or a quick shuttle ride!) away from classes. The campus is also located in one of the top resort destinations in the USA, with 90 km of coastline, over 100 golf courses, and a vibrant community, the destination enables much in the way of free time activities, as well as engagement with community organizations. Coastal has an active student-led international club and encourages new international students, as well as Americans, to take part. Club trips and a variety of activities are organized each semester.
