This program prepares international students to enter an undergraduate or graduate degree programs at most of the universities in the States. Curriculum : complete and brief ESL courses sessions are offered during the academic year and summer. Fall C and spring C are 14 weeks program, while Fall B and Spring B are 7 or 8 weeks long. Summer C is 12 weeks, and Summer B is 6 weeks. Depending on the season of enrollment and the term length, there may be 4 to 10 levels of instruction. When enrollment permits, the ELI creates a comfortable learning environment by initially separating students according to their age. Students are then placed into different appropriate levels for each of the skills that they will study in the courses (listening/speaking/grammar/reading/writing). Further more, the ELI offers elective courses in standard tests such as TOEFL, Business English, US culture, pronunciation, conversation strategies, computer application and other special courses that vary by term.
Classroom Hour : full time students will attend at least 23 hours of classroom instruction per week, but they may take up to 32 hours including elective and other substitute classes.
