Focus of Study : When students choose this English as a Second Language (ESL) Program, they’ll discover that the school has had a long tradition of serving international students. St. Novert College has been offering ESL classes since 1993, and has existed since its foundation in 1898. The institute offers a multi-level, non-credit, intensive English program. The staff will place students in one of four levels of ESL instruction: beginning, elementary, intermediate and advanced. They’ll take an English placement test to determine their level of instruction. When it's done, studnets will find themselves prepared for further studies and a professional career.
Benefit, Goal of this course : Most of the classes will have about 10 students, with no more than 15 students in any class. They’ll have plenty of time to work individually with tutors, conversation partners and instructors. Students can be confident in receiving a solid education as St. Norbert College is fully accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools and nationally recognized as an academically challenging institution. All ESL classes are also accredited by the North Central Association of Schools and Colleges.

Accommodation
Most ESL students will live in one of 12 residence halls (dormitories) on campus, and his or her roommate will either be American or another international student. This gives students a great opportunity to practice English and learn about another culture. No matter which residence hall students live in, it will have clothes washers and dryers, a small kitchen, a recreation room and a study room. All the rooms will have wireless internet connections for computers and most students bring their own computers to campus.
Surrounding Area
De Pere, Wisconsin, the location of this riverfront campus, is part of the metropolitan Green Bay area. Students will quickly find that the campus is in a quiet, safe community, with plenty of social and cultural opportunities close at hand. Green Bay has a metropolitan population of about 230,000 people and is located about 3 hours by car from Chicago; 2 hours from Milwaukee; 2 hours from Madison; and about 4.5 hours from Minneapolis. The weather in De Pere changes frequently. From September to May, temperatures range from 0°F to 70°F (-18°C to 18°C) with both rain and snow. In the summer, temperatures range from 60°F to 90°F (16°C to 32°C); it is mostly warm (often hot and humid) with generally clear skies. Students will need both lightweight clothing and warm winter clothes, in addition to an umbrella and raincoat. Of course, clothing for all types of weather is available in local stores and shops.

St Norbert College's campus includes classrooms, dormitories, a library, a cafeteria, a snack bar, a student center with a game room, computer laboratories, a theater, an athletic complex for indoor sports such as basketball.
Activity
ESL Institute will arrange several events including shopping trips within and outside De Pere, Wis., interactive parties and social events, discussions on a variety of topics, movies, special performances, and trips to other scenic areas in Wisconsin. Students are encouraged to join college clubs and organizations and attend campus lectures, sporting events, movies and plays. Some events may require a small fee.
Getting to the school from the airport
The airport in Green Bay is a short 10-minute drive from campus. To make the arrival a smooth one, simply contact school staff with the student's arrival date and time in advance. They will arrange to pick you up at the airport and bring the student to campus.
