Central Pacific College has been open since 2004, and has been under its current ownership since 2008. CPC is an English language school located in a professional office building that is a ten-minute walk to the world-famous Ala Moana Shopping Center and only a five-minute walk to beautiful Waikiki Beach, Honolulu. Central Pacific College’s mission is to provide students with the highest standard of quality in ESL (English as a Second Language) education through its program as well as opportunities to develop the language and cultural competence necessary to function comfortably within a multicultural environment.
Focus of Study : the English Proficiency Program is a twenty hour per week program for students who hold an F-1 visa. Students will be given intensive lessons on communicative and grammar skills.
Benefit, Goal of this course : This course aims for two major goals. First goal is to enhance students' academic English. Hence the course incorporates grammar lessons in order to form students' basic knowledge on English structure and build on it to attain competent writing skills. The other aim is applicable English. Through Integrated Skills classes, students will practice real-life English.
Curriculum : Integrated Skills class includes lessons over listening, speaking, reading and writing techniques. Students will be put in groups or pairs to start discussions, presentations and class assignments. Grammar class involve individual and group assignments to facilitate students' understanding of various grammar points.
Classroom Hour : Students can choose to enroll in either morning (9am - 1pm) class or afternoon (1pm - 5pm) class.

Benefit, Goal of this course : This program aims to enable students to respond correctly to comprehension questions relating to a variety of listening passages, including lectures and conversations and provide an appropriate verbal response (e.g. state an opinion, summarize and contrast, summarize and state a preference) to a variety of spoken and written prompts. Not only that, this TOEFL program prepares students to respond correctly to comprehension questions relating to TOEFL-specific reading passages.
Curriculum : The curriculum includes listening, speaking, reading and writing sections related to TOEFL-specific topics and questions.

Due to its mid-Pacific location, Hawaii has many North American and Asian influences along with its own vibrant native culture. Facilities
Each classroom has whiteboards, a CD player, ample seating, and air-conditioning. There is also a student lounge area containing HD television and DVD player, computers, refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker.
Activity
CPC arranges a variety of diverse and multicultural activities for students to enjoy every term. Faculty and/or staff members arrange ideas with the Director of Studies, who then sets up the event sign-up sheet. Please check the bulletin board for updated information on activities!
