American National English Language InstituteAbout the
English is the language that the world uses to communicate. In recent years
we have experienced how advances in technology have meant an increasing
development in the learning and teaching of the English language.
Needless to say, any student wishing to conduct university degree studies in
the U.S. has to be proficient in the use of the English language.
Professionals worldwide wishing to move up the ladder in their workplaces
have also discovered that having proficiency in the English language gives them
a leverage over those who do not.
Consequently, American National English Language
Institute has considered all these reasons and has developed a
comprehensive English language program to aid people from all over the world who
are willing to improve their linguistic skills in the English language in an
all-English environment such as the U.S.
American National English Language Institute provides a
comprehensive training program at several levels in English Language learning
and teaching to meet the needs of students in a competitive global economy. We
accomplished this through vocational courses designed to increase English
proficiency, prepare students for success in their academic and professional
fields as well as foster their immersion in the American mainstream culture to
enhance their global awareness.
University of FairfaxAbout the
The tragic events of 9/11 have permanently changed the way America approaches Information Sharing & Security. While the nation was still recovering from the shock caused by the terror attacks, in-order to prevent another catastrophe in the future, the federal government was in full swing transforming our information systems and the way information is exchanged among the various government agencies and the private sector. America now had a new-found demand for qualified cybersecurity professionals who could protect this information exchange. The University of Fairfax was established in order to cater to this demand in 2002.
Mission
The mission of the University of Fairfax is to offer flexible, in-demand distance education programs that meet the needs of employers in a changing global marketplace. The University designs quality programs that foster critical thinking, effective communication, and collaboration in career-focused disciplines. The programs offer students practitioner-focused curricula that advance applied knowledge and research in applicable contemporary career fields.
English is the language of global professionals – those who can speak it have leverage in the workplace over those who do not, in the form of greater opportunities and advancement. The University of Fairfax (UF) has partnered with American National English Language Institute (ANELI). International students and US residents whose first languages are not English are welcome to enroll with UF’s partnered programs.
ANELI’s program is accredited by the Commission of English Language Accreditation (CEA) and is SEVP-approved for F1 visa students. Accreditation is the process of certifying an institution based on formal standards of quality. Accrediting agencies are membership-based organizations that ensure institutions have qualified faculty, proper curricula, and resources and support necessary to provide a quality education. The intensive programs help increase English proficiency with in-depth lessons in grammar, vocabulary, and sentence structure, and immersion in American mainstream culture. An assessment test is conducted upon admission to determine the appropriate level for the student (levels 1-6) and ensure that they are in appropriate class levels, saving time and money while ensuring the student remains challenged. When students have passed level 5, they automatically receive admission into UF’s academic programs (subject to meeting other admission requirements).
The small class sizes allow students a maximum amount of individual attention and an opportunity to develop speaking skills. The instructors understand the challenges that arise when learning a new language as they, too, represent the same diversity of the student population. Outside of the classroom, external cultural activities are hosted, designed to foster students’ newly acquired English skills (currently suspended due to COVID-19).

Off-Campus Housing Resources
University of Fairfax does not provide on-campus housing for students and encourages international students to experience full-immersion into the American culture by learning how to live off-campus. Once formally accepted into an UOF program, the Director of International Students will provide referral assistance for housing and apartments available in the local communities and will be available to help you throughout this process. During your stay in America, our staff organizes many activities to keep our international students actively involved at the UOF and in the local community. Our international students often build close connections and friendships with each other and other American students during their time studying at UOF.
