International House Bristol About the

  • Established in 1987, International House Bristol’s two centres are located in traditional buildings in Clifton, a vibrant, upmarket area of Bristol. Clifton combines a large variety of great shops, restaurants and bars, with elegant homes and plentiful green spaces. You have everything you need for the best results: comfortable classrooms, a great study room with listening facilities, a computer room with wi-fi and internet access, students’ rooms and private gardens where you can relax with friends or enjoy one of our regular barbecue parties. Situated in a lovely and historic building in Clifton (the historical part of Bristol) and with a body of 20 to 100 students all year round, the school has welcomed students from the world over since 1987. It is well located, close to numerous shops, restaurants and the university, and offers ideal facilities: TV, Internet, video, comfortable classrooms, a study room with a listening centre and even a kitchen… all available to students. Its friendly atmosphere and teachers who are very engaged in the daily life of the students distinguish the school. The school has a second course centre, some 5-8 minutes’ walk from the main building. During the low season, it is used for IELTS and Cambridge exams preparation courses. During the high season, lessons for young students are held there in the morning and in the afternoon the students of the 20-lesson programme for adults attend their classes there.
