  • The school is based in a traditional building and an update has been completed to bring the old and new together by keeping the historical architecture of the building,  whilst also creating modern and well-equipped classrooms. This blend of the old and the new continues in the city - alongside beautiful historic buildings, you'll find a thoroughly modern city with a vibrant international feel, a thriving cultural scene and some great shopping and restaurants!

    Thanks to the city's compact size, all accommodation options are within easy reach of the school. Trains to London only take an hour, and with such excellent transport links, Cambridge is an ideal base from which to explore more of the UK.

Course Information

  • Focus of Study and Benefits : 
    Intensive English 28 Lesson per Week programme is the perfect course for students who want to combine studying with leisure. Students will have free time in either the morning or the afternoon for private study in St.Giles' Self-Access Centres or to join activities and excursions with their new friends and enjoy culture. 

    Curriculum : 
    Intensive English classes offer the best value for money and the opportunity to benefit from interaction with other language learners from all over the world. Maximum class size is 12, which ensures that students will have personal attention from your teacher. Students will be placed in one of 6 levels based on their placement test results. Students can also choose to combine this program with private One-to-one lessons for more intensive learning or to focus on specific needs and wants. The course is designed for students to speak with greater confidence and fluency with an increased vocabulary, develop listening, reading and writing skills and to have greater understanding of grammatical structure of English. 

    Classroom Hour : 
    28 lessons per week (23 hours 20 minutes)

Activity

  • The Social Programme at St Giles is a very important part of your time here. If you take part in the programme you have the chance to make friends, have fun and practise your
    English. The Social Programme Organiser produces a new programme of activities every month. Usually, there are afternoon or evening activities during the week and full-day
    excursions to different towns and cities at the weekends. Students aged 14 or 15 can only go on selected Saturday trips. Some of the activities are free, others you have to
    pay for. You can buy tickets for activities from the Social Programme Organiser, and tickets for weekend excursions from Reception—please buy your weekend tickets by
    Wednesday. You will find information on the Social programme on the notice boards in the Cafe. If you have any extra ideas for good activities for the Social Programme, please talk to the Social Programme Organiser.
