  • TLG aims to meet the needs of students worldwide with innovative, career-focused approach to tuition and dedication to a high-quality student experience.
    Passionate, experienced, well-prepared and dynamic – that’s the best way to describe TLG teachers. They have all had CELTA or TESOL teacher training and many also possess a teaching degree or DELTA qualification.
    TLG mainly uses inductive teaching approaches, also known as “inquiry” or “discovery” teaching. The teacher is a guide. It is a more student-centered method. It is called the “Communicative Approach”.

Course Information

  • Focus of Study : 
    TLG’s General English course helps students become more confident when using English in everyday situations, whether they are at an elementary or an advanced level.

    Benefit, Goal of this course : 
    If you would like to improve your English grammar and expand your vocabulary, the General English course is an excellent option. It gives students the opportunity to learn the language according to their levels and individual needs.

    Curriculum : 
    - the four key communication skills: reading, writing, speaking, and listening
    - improve grammar
    - expand vocabulary
    - learn more about pronunciation

    Classroom Hour :
    15 hours per week (1 course hour = 55 minutes)

    This course is ideal if you want to develop critical skills specific to higher education. The course prepares students for the challenges of undergraduate and postgraduate studies in English-speaking countries in Canada or around the world.
    After completing the programme, you will be ready for the undergraduate or postgraduate course of your choice, making the transition to higher education easier.

    - developing important skills such as listening to lectures and note-taking, reading skills and summarising and delivering impactful presentations

語言學校會先舉辦分級考試,並且視你的等級給予適當的課程選擇。為了能夠讓自己的語言能力有所進步,當然必須盡力考到最好。而我所選的課程主要是跟口語有關,畢竟我們在學校所學的英文能力能藉此發揮,才能習慣成自然,我是這樣想的。課堂第一天,老師與班上學生討論有興趣的議題與所期待能在這門課中獲得什麼,選擇自己所感興趣的,然後盡情參與其中。

有趣的是,一個班級就如同文化的大熔爐,觀點與文化的不同常會互相腦力激盪而後產生獨特的見解,比如說,某次上課主題為社群網站,討論過程中,可以了解到不同國情文化使用社群網絡的現象與特色。
不同於我們對於上課的刻板肅穆氛圍,課堂中取而代之的是如同歡樂的宴會氣氛,每位同學皆踴躍的表達自己的看法,同時也尊重他人的不同見地,若討論到敏感議題時例如政治,如何有風度地接受別人的看法,並且機智給予回應,是我在這個月當中所學到的寶貴經驗,不僅止於課堂討論,同學之間相處也是不吝給予指點,並當下指出你的錯誤迅速解決問題,避免問題隨著時間擴大與複雜化,這也是令我印象最深刻的。
