About the  Centre for English Language Development

  • The University of Windsor’s Centre for English Language Development has the right program for the students seeking to improve their language skills. The English Centre of the University of Windsor offers the very best quality in English language training. The English Centre helps students make the most of their English studies through intensive language learning, academic skill preparation and exciting social activities. Their English Language Improvement Programs include Pre-University Levels, English Language Improvement Program(ELIP), TESOL Program and English for Academic Preparation Purposes (EAPP). English Language Improvement Program is a comprehensive, year-round English language program in all levels, ranging from low to high-intermediate. The program provides integrated lessons targeting all language areas. Each level takes 12 weeks to complete and successful completion of the final level (ELIP 3) meets University of Windsor English proficiency requirements. The instructors are certified to teach English as a second language and the programs are in operation with the University of Windsor since 1999. The Centre for English Language Development is also accredited by Languages Canada.

  • The University of Windsor is a comprehensive, student-centred university, with more than 16,500 students enrolled in a broad range of undergraduate and graduate programs including several professional schools such as Law, Business, Engineering,Education, Nursing, Human Kinetics and Social Work. The new Ed Lumley Centre for Engineering Innovation, the largest capital project on campus to date, opened in the fall of 2012 as a world-class hub for innovation, featuring the latest in classroom teaching technology, an Industrial Courtyard for collaborative work with the region and 80 research labs.     Each 12-week program offers core classes with integrated skills, oral communication / structure in context classes, computer language labs and additional activities scheduled each term.

(President's Strategic Plan) The ISC guides and supports international students from admission to graduation, and we start this long before you even arrive on our campus.The University of Windsor is committed to ensuring that its graduates have an exceptional international experience; be it while on an international exchange or co-op, in the classroom with students from around the world or while engaged in out-of-class activities. Our students engage with others around the world through: participating in a wide array of activities and services supported by theInternational Students Centre, joining one or more of our international clubs and organizations and connecting with some of our internationally-trained professors.

Getting to the school from the airport

  • This unique program provides airport/rail pick-up options for new international students who have arrived in Windsor during September and January. Students must register and provide their arrival details.
