Course Information

  • Focus of Study :
    This course is designed to deepen students' knowledge of English and give them more opportunities to practice their newly-acquired language skills, especially in speaking and writing. With additional lessons on grammar structure and pronunciation, the course seeks to develop students into well-rounded English speakers. The program include 30 General Language lessons every week. Students can enroll for as short as 2 weeks, to up to 52 weeks (1 full year). Same lesson in offered in 9 different levels in order to suit students' linguistic needs and provide them with the most necessary and tailored language education. Class sizes are kept at around 10 students in order to create the most idealized studying environment in which students can freely interact with both other students and the instructor.

  • Eurocentres believes that language learning greatly depends on students' accommodation. The schools offers homestay, student residence and hotel/apartment option. Students choosing to live with a local family will have the chance to practice and use their newly-acquired language skills. Students will be provided with their own rooms, bathrooms, and meal plan of half-board (breakfast and dinner), full-board (all meals), or just breakfast prepared by the host family. Laundry may cost extra fee at students' homestay. Student residences emphasize the interaction among international students. Students will be placed in private rooms with self-prepared meals. Communal kitchen will be provided, although not facilitated with cooking tools. Private hotels or apartments will be offered at attractive rates for those who want more privacy and independence.

    There are a variety of homestays available to suit everyone – from families with children, to single owner occupiers, to retired couples. All of our homestay providers including professional agencies if used, have been carefully chosen, and are regularly inspected. Bedrooms are clean and comfortable and all students will be provided with a place for quiet study.

加拿大英語語言學院,該校提供多種課程給予選擇,且課後活動的安排深深吸引我的目光。  
基本上入學的前一天,語言學校會先舉辦分級考試,並且視你的等級給予適當的課程選擇。為了能夠讓自己的語言能力有所進步,當然必須盡力考到最好。而我所選的課程主要是跟口語有關,畢竟我們在學校所學的英文能力能藉此發揮,才能習慣成自然,我是這樣想的。課堂第一天,老師與班上學生討論有興趣的議題與所期待能在這門課中獲得什麼,選擇自己所感興趣的,然後盡情參與其中。

有趣的是,一個班級就如同文化的大熔爐,觀點與文化的不同常會互相腦力激盪而後產生獨特的見解,比如說,某次上課主題為社群網站,討論過程中,可以了解到不同國情文化使用社群網絡的現象與特色。
不同於我們對於上課的刻板肅穆氛圍,課堂中取而代之的是如同歡樂的宴會氣氛,每位同學皆踴躍的表達自己的看法,同時也尊重他人的不同見地,若討論到敏感議題時例如政治,如何有風度地接受別人的看法,並且機智給予回應,是我在這個月當中所學到的寶貴經驗,不僅止於課堂討論,同學之間相處也是不吝給予指點,並當下指出你的錯誤迅速解決問題,避免問題隨著時間擴大與複雜化,這也是令我印象最深刻的。如何有技巧的不讓對方感到不舒服與保持組內的和諧,在這短短的一個月當中,我確實學到不少。
