UNIVERSITY TRANSFER PROGRAM STAGE II
The courses taken during this program are designed by SFU and all instructors are approved by the university. Depending on your secondary school qualifications and grades, you may apply directly to UTP Stage II. To progress to the second year of the relevant degree program at SFU, you must complete 10 academic courses and achieve the minimum cumulative grade-point average (GPA) specified for your program of study at SFU. You can complete UTP Stage II in three terms (one year).
ARTS AND SOCIAL SCIENCES (BA)
UTP Stage II: Arts and Social Sciences is equivalent to the first year of SFU’s Bachelor of Arts degree. It provides the foundation for further study in many areas such as economics, English, international studies, political science, psychology, linguistics and criminology.
BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION (BBA)
UTP Stage II: Business Administration is equivalent to the first year of SFU’s Bachelor of Business Administration. It provides the foundation for further study in many aspects of business and commerce to help you choose your area of specialization for your Bachelor of Business Administration degree.
COMMUNICATION, ART AND TECHNOLOGY (BA)
UTP Stage II: Communication, Art and Technology is equivalent to the first year of SFU’s Bachelor of Arts degree. The courses provide introduction to three Schools housed within the Faculty of Communication, Art and Technology, providing the foundation for a Bachelor of Arts degree with a Double Minor specialization.
COMMUNICATION AND BUSINESS (BA)
UTP Stage II: Communication and Business is equivalent to the first year of SFU’s Bachelor of Arts degree awarded by the Faculty of Communication, Art, and Technology (FCAT). The program will provide you with the necessary foundation to understand and excel in such an exciting program.
COMPUTING SCIENCE (BSC)
UTP Stage II: Computing Science is equivalent to the first year of SFU’s Bachelor of Science (Computer Science) degree program. It provides the foundation for further study in many aspects of computing to help you choose your area of specialization for your undergraduate degree.
ENGINEERING SCIENCE (ENSC)
UTP Stage II: Engineering Science provides first-year courses and the foundation for progression to the second year of SFU’s School of Engineering Science degrees. Students enrolled in an Engineering Science degree program at SFU complete three terms of full-time paid work experience during their degree.
ENVIRONMENT (BA)
UTP Stage II: Environment provides first-year courses and the foundation for progression to the second year of SFU’s Faculty of Environment. With growing awareness of Environmental issues around the World, a degree from the Faculty of the Environment will provide multiple career options in Canada and around the World.
ENVIRONMENT (BSC)
UTP Stage II: Environment (Science) provides first-year courses and the foundation for progression to the second year of SFU’s Faculty of Environment. With an emphasis on applied and interdisciplinary solutions to complex environmental problems, programs in the Faculty of the Environment provide multiple career options for students in Canada and around the World.

HEALTH SCIENCES (BA)
UTP Stage II: Health Sciences (BA): The interdisciplinary approach of SFU’s Health Sciences program encourages a broad exploration of diverse areas of study and will allow students to gain an excellent foundation in a variety of areas and choose the area of study they wish to specialize in when they progress to SFU.
HEALTH SCIENCES (BSC)
UTP Stage II: Health Sciences (BSc) provides first-year courses and the foundation for progression to the second year of SFU’s Faculty of Health Sciences. Programs in the Health Sciences combine scientific inquiry with social and behavioural research to examine the underlying causes of health and disease and the factors that influence population health.
SCIENCES (BSC)
The UTP Stage II: Science pathway is a student’s first step into realizing their dreams of transforming the world through scientific research, using interactive, theoretical and practical approaches to improving society. In UTP Stage II: Science students choose to focus in one of four different areas: mathematics and data science, experimental science, life science, or general science.
