Course Information

  • Stanley College’s General English course provides students with the opportunity to develop useful English language and literacy skills which they can use to undertake a variety of English language skills tests, further their education and training and actively participate in an English speaking community. The aims of this course are to:
    -Improve general proficiency of students in their knowledge and understanding of English, in the skills of reading, writing, speaking and listening.
    -Improve student’s general every-day usage of English in different contexts, including in the community and workplace.
    -Provide students with strategies to participate in learning activities outside of the classroom, to actively participate in further study and learning contexts.
    -To enable students to study toward a specific goal, whether it be to participate in the IELTS, TOEIC, Cambridge FCE or other applicable tests.

Course Information

  • Be part of a fast growing industry. Acquire valuable skills and knowledge to be competent as a qualified cook in a commercial kitchen. Learn about the organisation, preparation and presentation of food. Be trained in the different methods of cookery. Learn about workplace hygiene, first aid and health, safety and security procedures. Gain the knowledge to develop cost-effective menus and develop the skills to prepare foods according to dietary and cultural needs.

    Work Based Training
    This course contains Work Based Training of 200 scheduled course contact hours over a period of 10 weeks. During Work Based Training, you will be able to practice your skills and knowledge in real workplace settings. This will assist you to be job-ready> at graduation. Stanley College has entered into Work Based Training agreements with a number of employers.

Course information

  • Kick-start a career in the fast growing and diverse hospitality industry. Be equipped with the skills and knowledge to be competent in a varied range of positions including food and beverage attendant, function host, restaurant host, senior bar attendant, waiter and espresso coffee machine operator. You will acquire a range of well-developed hospitality service, sales or operational skills and sound knowledge of industry operations. You will learn to work with independence and under limited supervision using plans, policies and procedures to guide work activities.

    This course contains Work Based Training of 140 scheduled course contact hours over a period of 7 weeks. During Work Based Training, you will be able to practice your skills and knowledge in real workplace settings. This will assist you to be job-ready> at graduation.
