  • West Texas A&M University is a part of Texas A&M public education system, and was established in 1910. The student body incorporates approximately 8,000 students, and there are less than 2% international students at school. WTAMU is a part of NCAA Division II for its sports team, and students can participate in over 15 official sports team and more than 100 campus organizations. Deans of academics are mostly Ph.D. earners, and there are over 250 full time faculty members on campus. English as a Second Language International(ESLi), an official institution, endorses West Texas A&M University as a supreme location for language education. ESLi is well-known for its strong affiliations with the offered university programs; and students who participate in the program will not only be able to immerse themselves in university cultures, but will also have an opportunity to be accepted to internationally acclaimed undergraduate/graduate programs with a possibility of receiving a scholarship. At West Texas A&M, students will be able to take part in more than 50 intramural and club sports, experience authentic dorm community life, and take part in academically accredited Computer Science Program, and many more.

  • If students choose to study at WTAMU through a ESLI program, students will be able to enjoy diverse activities that include horseback riding in the Palo Duro Canyon, hiking, holiday parties, Cadillac ranch, water aerobics, and more. WTAMU students can also participate in over 100 campus organizations and further explore their special talents. Recent graduates have responded that through their experiences at WTAMU they could establish a network of support, improve resume, and get the most out of college. In addition, Canyon’s mild and sunny weather will always encourage the students to be fully active and social on campus.

Conditional admission

  • ESLI is a program that will give the students theopportunity to join the universities degree programs. No TOEFL or IELTS required.Upon completion, academically qualified students will be admitted to the ESLI universities.Students do not need to take GMAT or GRE exams at the time of application Instead,ESLI affiliated universities allow students to take the exams at the end of thePre-University level of the ESLI program.

  • WTAMU has ten different residence halls, and each hall offers different features. Due to the WTAMU’s belief in the excellence of living on campus, the university requires all students under the age of 21 to live on campus. Students living in residence halls will follow “Housing and Meal Plan Requirements”. Also, there are multiple options including “super suites”, doubles, singles, triples, and so on. Apartments are also available for students over 21 or who are transferring at least 45 hours.

  • WTAMU is located in Canyon, which is in North Texas near the city of Amarillo, TX. There are about 200,000 of population in the area. The campus is about 4 hour drive to Albuquerque, New Mexico, and 6-hour drive to Dallas, Texas. West Texas A&M University students enjoy 264 sunny days a year with a mild and dry climate.

  西德州農工大學校園佔地廣大,當地民風單純,治安良好,生活機能強, 總被評論為優良安全之學習環境。

西德州農工大學真的是個很大的學校,可以認識來自世界各地的朋友。課程選擇方面十分多元,你可以依需求選擇不同密集程度的課,老師也會依課程內容調整上課方式,進行小組討論或個人報告。我很喜歡課堂上同學和老師之間雙向的互動過程,老師們會不停拋出問題,學生們也都踴躍回答和討論。此外,學校課後活動的安排也十分豐富,有運動性社團,也有美國各個著名景點的導覽等等。整體而言,我認為西德州農工大學是個非常棒的學校。

這趟遊學之旅不僅僅是學英文,更開拓了我的視野。我認為遊學最吸引人的地方,是認識許多來自世界各地的朋友。我們在這遠離家鄉的國度相遇,然後在課堂上產生連結,課後hang out together,既使離別後仍是一輩子的朋友。我們在彼此身上看到不同文化,也認清了世界真的很大。經過這次的旅程,我不再拘泥於用單一的視角看世界,而是充滿熱忱的想要深入了解,不同的文化背景是如何看世界的。
