About the  English Language Institute (ELI)

  • The English Language Institute (ELI) offers a variety of courses to students from a high beginner to an advanced level of English language proficiency. These courses are suitable for students who wish to improve their English language ability for academic, professional, and social purposes. Intensive English courses include English Grammar, Conversation, Reading Writing, ESL American Culture, and TOEFL Preparation Most classes meet between 9:30 a.m. and 2:50 p.m. Full-time Intensive program students receive a total of 21.5 hours of classroom instruction each week. The full-time Intensive program includes cultural activities. Manhattanville College is located on a beautiful 100-acre campus in suburban Westchester County, an area that is the home to major corporations (IBM, MasterCard, PepsiCo), art centers, historic sites, shopping, and many recreational facilities. Manhattanville's friendly, small college atmosphere attracts students from across the U.S. and more than 70 nations. The excitement and cultural attractions of New York City are only a 30-minute train ride away.

學校的活動很多,設施也會不定期更新,每個周末都有安排活動帶學生出遊,

老師教學方式活潑,也很有耐心,每堂課的內容雖然不同,但都注重再加強同學的聽說讀寫部分,
每學期舉辦兩次英語能力測驗的考試,便利於要進修的學生,也而外開選修課提供給學生參加.
學生都來自世界各地,不過大都來中東像是沙烏地阿拉伯,印度;以及韓國.日本.和中國各地的亞洲地區,除了可以認識各個地方不同的文化之外,也可以訓練聽除了美式以外的口音~~
這是一個以著名的旅遊城市這是著名的美食,音樂和歷史街區。
因為去附近旅行都很方便很近,因此常常與其他同學一起去旅行~~ 有很多很美好得回憶^^
