Course Information

  • Designed for students interested in obtaining an American degree, Georgetown's Intensive Academic English Program helps you lead to studies at American colleges and universities. The program features a full-time intensive process that emphasizes academic writing, reading, grammar, and communication. Participate in lectures and class discussions, presentations, organization notes, writing and media criticism analysis, and learn about university lecture-level writing and research skills.
    Participate in academic programming such as lectures, hands-on activities, group discussions, and workshops between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on weekdays. In addition to classroom classes, individually complete assignments at home or study with classmates and complete projects. You will be given a chance to participate in programs and cultural activities every week, and you can practice and use what you have learned in class.

    Experienced teachers provide an integrated approach to English learning preparation throughout the program, providing individualized feedback in the process. By the end of the program, you will have a degree in the United States and know more about cultural expectations within the higher education system in the United States.

Facilities

  • The English Language Center belongs to the School of Continuing Studies (SCS). The SCS campus is located in the heart of the U.S. capital and has a walking score of 99 points, making it easy to walk to and from the campus enough to be called the "Paradise of Providers." Washington DC Campus has a classroom, office, and conference room with the latest technology on the site of about 9,000 square meters. The site consists of 30 classrooms, 14 group study rooms, 125-capacity auditoriums, digital media rooms, broadcasting studios, chapels, libraries, coffee shops, and several lounges. In the classroom, you can learn from industry leaders, prominent scholars, and exchange opinions with classmates from all over the world.
