About the  English Language Program

  • Rowan University offers a variety of English language courses and services designed to help non-native speakers of English improve their verbal and written skills professionally, personally, and academically. These programs include an English Language Program in Glassboro, New Jersey (Rowan University’s main campus), an English Language Community Program in Camden, New Jersey (Rowan University’s Camden campus), Pathway Program in Glassboro, New Jersey, TOEFL ITP Testing, and American Language & Culture Institute (Summer School in Glassboro, New Jersey). 


About the  Rowan University

  • Rowan University is a public research university in Glassboro, New Jersey, with a medical campus in Stratford, New Jersey, and medical and academic campuses in Camden, New Jersey. It was founded in 1923 as Glassboro Normal School on a 25-acre (10 ha) site donated by 107 residents.

    The university includes 14 colleges and schools with a total enrollment (undergraduate, graduate, and professional studies) of just over 19,600 students. Rowan offers 85 bachelor's, 46 master's degrees, six doctoral degrees, and two professional degrees. It is classified among "R2: Doctoral Universities – High research activity".

  • Curriculum:
    English Language Program:Comprehensive intensive academic English language training

    English Language Community Program:Communicative English language program

    University Conditional Admission Program:Program for degree-seeking students who have met admission requirements for a degree program (undergraduate or graduate) at Rowan University but need to improve their English proficiency.

    Pathway Program:One-semester university prep program for advanced level students (TOEFL/IELTS waiver program).

    TOEFL ITP Testing:Language Test for Rowan University admission (offered once a semester)

    American Language & Culture Institute:Summer English language and American culture program with trips

  • Rowan University features seven residence halls and five apartment communities nestled among the trees of a 200-acre campus in historic Glassboro, New Jersey. University and affiliated residences provide easy access to campus resources, recreational facilities, and social opportunities.

Surrounding Area

  • Rowan University is located in New Jersey. In New Jersey, you can enjoy a panoramic view of New York from Liberty State Park in Jersey City, take a walk along the Hudson River, or cross the water by boat to see the Statue of Liberty. The MT Sky Monument bears the names of 749 New Jersey residents who died on September 11, 2001. Here you can see the Lower Manhattan site where the World Trade Center stood.


Facilities

  • Mimosa Hall

    Mimosa Hall is centrally located near the Student Center, Recreation Center and intramural fields. The building also features a computer lab for students.

    Evergreen Hall

    Located on the south side of campus, this hall is conveniently located next to Mullica Hall, the Student Center and Rowan Boulevard. Nearby is a basketball court for residents.

    Chestnut Hall

    Chestnut Hall is located on the north side of the campus, next to Willow Hall and Magnolia Hall. Nearby is Holly Pointe Commons which includes Glassworks Eatery.

    Magnolia Hall

    Magnolia Hall is located on the north side of the campus, next to Willow Hall and Chestnut Hall. It's scenically next to our campus pond.
