Location

Accommodation

  • Residence Hall
Opened in September of 2015, the new residence hall is located at the corner of Lenora Street and Terry Avenue, just blocks from downtown shopping and CityU’s main campus on 6th and Wall. Experience downtown living and culture in a safe and supportive environment. Short-term stay is available.

    Homestay
A Homestay is an excellent opportunity to live with an American family and experience the U.S. culture firsthand. The following home-stay agencies provide placement service for students interested in living with U.S. families. A placement fee is paid to the agency and then monthly payments go directly to the family with whom you are placed. In addition, the agencies offer airport pick-ups and delivery to your home-stay site. If you are interested in applying for a host family, please allow one month for the application to be properly processed.

    Apartment
Apartments usually require you to agree to a lease of 6 months or one year, so please be certain of where you want to live before you agree to the lease. It is usually a good idea to wait until you are in Seattle and can visit the apartments in-person before signing a lease. Read the lease (rental contract) very carefully, because you must follow all of the building rules.

Activity

  • Activity Summary

Weekend Trips & Activities – Affordable day trips (often FREE) to other cities and areas outside of Seattle are enjoyed by our students, with trips to nearby locations like Bremerton, Tacoma, Poulsbo, and Snoqualmie, to name a few. Trips to local Seattle neighborhoods and events are also enjoyed by our students as well. A wide variety of activity choices are offered each quarter. All trips and events are open to friends and families of our WAL & CityU students.

Lunch Bites – A Delicious Time Together – Everybody loves good food – especially when it’s FREE! Come and see what’s “cooking” in our library, as WAL helps students enjoy a light lunch or snack together as a CityU community 3-4 times a quarter. This is one of our favorite community building events that WAL hosts for the students at CityU.

Volunteer Opportunities – Students often like to step out and use their English in new and different ways. Therefore, WAL finds various group and individual volunteer opportunities for students at CityU. Whether helping out at a local cultural festival at the Seattle Center, or distributing food to the needy at a neighborhood food bank, WAL students are informed regularly of volunteer opportunities in and around the city. A very rewarding experience to be had by all our students.
