Course Information

  • Focus of Study : 
    Structure/Speaking Practice with emphasis on vocabulary enrichment and language technology
    Benefit, Goal of this course : If students want to learn English while still having time to visit local cities and attractions, the ELS Semi-Intensive English program is the perfect choice! Student will take classes in the morning and have afternoons free to explore and use his improving English.
     
    Curriculum :  
    The development of important language skills and elements, such as listening, speaking, 
     
    pronunciation and vocabulary, allows him to communicate accurately and effectively.
     
    Students practice conversation and other speaking skills using practical, real-world English. Students learn 
    to write with accuracy and effectiveness, develop strategic listening skills and improve your use  
    of grammar.
     
    Students work on his individual language skills and objectives through technology-supported learning  
    in our modern Language Technology Centers.
     
    Contact America! provides student with regular opportunities to meet with native English speakers, visit 
    and observe university courses, listen to guest lecturers and participate in local excursions

    Description:
    Host family students are responsible for their personal transportation. Most homestay families will be in the suburban, residential areas and will require a short commute (30 mins or less) on public transportation.

    No meals included. However, ELS students are eligible to use the RU Express plan. It is not a traditional meal plan, but is a stored balance card that can be used in the campus dining facilities and also in local eateries that accept this form of payment. One dollar of RU Express is equivalent to one US dollar. The amount of meals the plan will cover depends upon the funding amount chosen for the card.

    Description:
    Each apartment has four single bedrooms, one bathroom, one kitchen, one vanity area, and one living room. Each single bedroom will be furnished with a twin extra-long bed and mattress, dresser, desk, desk chair, and closet space. Each kitchen will have a flat-top electric stove, refrigerator, trash can, and recycling receptacle. Each living room will be furnished with a three-seat sofa, two sitting chairs, and one coffee table. Each living room and single bedroom will have individual controls for the building's central heating/air conditioning system. Hard-wired telephone service is not available. ELS students will have full access to all of the common area residence hall amenities, which include its fitness centers, computer labs, laundry rooms, study lounges, and gathering spaces.

  • Rutgers-Camden is nestled within the Camden Waterfront and the Cooper Grant historic neighborhoods. The Camden Waterfront, also known as the Central Waterfront, is a tourist and entertainment district in Camden, New Jersey on the Delaware River. The waterfront neighborhood is characterized by its visitor attractions and its location offering views of the river and the Philadelphia skyline. The Cooper Grant historic District, a contemporary residential neighborhood, is listed on the US National Register of Historic Places.
